Welcome to The Gayly Dose
As defined by the scholarly society, a caste is any class or group of people who inherit exclusive privileges or are perceived as socially distinct. Go into any gay bar or venue and you will see this definition applied to real life.
This week, we take on the issue of how exclusive certain social situations are in our lives and how they affect not only us, but our entire community. Half of this conversation is reflective because in talking about it, you have moments of pause where you wonder if you’ve participated in perpetuating these stereotypes.
To progress as a society, it is important that we champion inclusivity within our communities. This will only benefit us both mentally, but in every part of our existence.
